Remembering when I was just a kid, we suffered many big typhoons from power cuts to having no water supplies. A university, the Dom, and the Russian Embassy are also the highlight of \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eÜnter den Linden.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTowards the end of the \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eÜnter den Linden, the iconic Brandenburg Tor (Gate), which survived from the bombing of WWII, stands alone, looking tall and majestic, just like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Anyhow, I'm not here to recap history, though it may seem a bit melancholy due to the historic facts, but I tend to see this as a walk of gratitude -with every step we take on Ünter den Linden. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe fresh summer breeze in Berlin is exceptionally calming, and satisfying. It brings front the smell of creaminess, slightly leathery smell, and fruitiness into the mid note. In the meanwhile, you get whiffs of freshly brewed green tea popping in. It's like being served a nice cup of green tea under the Linden tree where you enjoy your afternoon walk. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe background is built with jasmine flowers, white lilac, and clean cedar woods. It's a love story told under the Linden trees in the summer days. Two people sharing one kiss on the lips. Suitable to wear all year round. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHowever, the scent wouldn't be quite finished without a little kick of cannabis and oud. It is overall Berlin, wherever you go you get an ever so slightly smell of someone smoking pot. This old building is located in the days of East Germany. It has many history to tell.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"caret-color: #000000;\"\u003eThe initial impression is very upfront, you won't miss the pungent dry wood that strongly resembles nothing but \"Old\", used, dusty furniture that only appears in either an abandon building, or an antique museum. When this initial impression settles down, the bitter sweet liquor gradually emerges, it's like someone accidentally spilled a glass of hard liquor on an old sofa, and the smell from the stains soaked into the leather...\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"caret-color: #000000;\"\u003eMore and more greens appear in the mid, it's green but also piney, it's winter, it's cold, but also a bit warm because of the smokey notes introduced in the base. The smoke with woods create a semi fireplace warmth in the freezing hungry days of war set in Berlin. \u003c\/span\u003eAt the very last stage of Ostalgie, wearable animal scents are also captured here.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"caret-color: #000000;\"\u003eThis scent is direct, and unapologetic. Having no friends and alone in this gigantic yet vibrant city at my mid 20's, having her guiding me the way into the colorful scene was like winning the lottery. Many things happened, and many things will stay the way it is. I will leave that to your interpretation to this scent as I gathered my memories from the past from one winter in Kottbusser Tor (the area of Kreuzberg), Prenzlaur Berg, and Pankow. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWinter in Berlin can be cold, freezing, snowy, and windy, but this never stops the people here from feeling lively, and aspiring to be someone famous.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eScent:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven though I created this perfume I still find it hard to describe when the initial spray hits my arm, it's a full bodied experience with complexity and dense forest atmosphere. The cannabis accord is definitely up front, alongside the cyclamen that gives lifts to the composition. Here you experience tremendously the Winter Air Accord that I tailored for Kreuzberg, the pine absolute that plays a big part and many elements that would surely remind you of forests, pine trees, and even pine cones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFir balsam and the smell of jammy Black Hemlock enter at mid point. There are no fruity notes utilized here, but due to the nature of fir balsam and hemlock materials they give you a winter fruity sweetness. The winter I depict here is supposed to be cold, and snowy, but the warmth from the animal notes in the dry down surely makes the winter less intense. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs the journey of scent travels towards the end, the dryness in the air can be detected due to the use of tobacco absolute, and mastic absolute, it also gives off a slight bitterness. At times, it was to a point I seem to have reached my limit and lost my orientation, \"where am I?\", but the sun shines through the window the next day proves to me it's a clear sign that I'm still A-Okay\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's magical how Berlin can make a person fantasize, and believing it is fueled with endless possibilities, and yet unknowingly committed to loneliness. Guess it's always like this in big cities, who knows?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eScents:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSour, sweet, and juicy fruits with a combination of dates is what comes to mind in the first place. If you were born and raised in Taiwan you'd probably associate this kind of smell with dry plums, or in that ballpark.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSlowly, hints of milky creaminess appears, as the pungent of dates mellows into the background. The added milk tea in the note blends smoothly with the tobacco leaves and tobacco absolute. The hay note here emphasizes the dryness of the leafy tobacco, but also adds another layer to the scent.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe spices that we associate a lot with the Islamic culture is a key to this blend. As we travel into the dry down of Babylon, vanilla and the Cambodian Oud accord I build for this scent gets more of an attention.
